Self-hosted tube CMS - spec no. 001

Your tube site, drawn to scale: one binary.

Thumbs, categories, players, HLS delivery - a complete tube site engineered into a single 34 MB Go binary. It installs itself, updates itself, and runs on your server.

$0.15/DAY FLAT PER DOMAIN - 14-DAY FREE TRIAL

FIG. 1 - YOURTUBE.COM - SERVED BY ONE BINARY
Section 02 - process

One binary runs the whole production line.

Drop a video in - or point Tubium at an existing site - and it comes out the other end as a published page with HLS streams and thumbs. No queues to wire up, no services to babysit.

FIG. 2 - VIDEO PRODUCTION LINE - SINGLE 34 MB STATIC BINARY
Section 03 - components

Everything a tube site needs, in the box.

Binary

One 34 MB static file

Web server, admin, transcoder control and an embedded database in a single binary. No PHP, no MySQL, no dependency stack to babysit.

Import

Import from any tube site

Point it at a source and it pulls videos, transcodes and publishes them - with quality targets, filters and autodelete policies you control.

Scale

Grows into roles

Start on one box. When traffic grows, run the same binary as separate control, converter and storage nodes across your servers.

Storage

Your storage, no metering

Videos live on your disks and stream over your bandwidth. Nobody meters your traffic, your library size or your views.

TLS

Domains with auto TLS

Point DNS at your box and certificates are issued and renewed automatically. HTTPS from the first request, zero certificate chores.

Site kit

Search, themes, feeds

Full-text search, themeable templates, sitemaps and feeds are built in - the site furniture ships with the engine, not bolted on.

Section 04 - substitution

Retire the legacy PHP stack.

A 17-year-old PHP codebase physically cannot be this simple. That is the whole point of building on a modern single binary.

The legacy way
  • $499 license tier to unlock the full feature set
  • PHP + loader extensions + MySQL + a cron farm
  • A 40-page install guide and a support ticket to go live
  • Extra fees for every additional server
Tubium
  • $0.15/day flat - every feature included
  • One static Go binary with an embedded database
  • One install command - live in minutes, TLS included
  • Multi-server roles included
Section 05 - licensing

One price. Every feature. No tiers.

$0.15/day per domain
ABOUT $4.50/MONTH - PREPAID BALANCE, PRORATED TO THE DAY
  • Every feature - nothing gated behind tiers
  • Unlimited videos, storage and traffic
  • Multi-server roles included
  • Import from any tube site
  • Automatic zero-downtime updates
  • 14-day free trial
Get started

No card to start. Stop paying any time - your videos and database stay on your server.

Section 06 - questions

Frequently asked.

What do I need to run it?

Any Linux server and a domain - one modest VPS is enough to start. A single install command sets up the binary, its dependencies, the system service and TLS certificates.

Can I move my existing tube site?

Tubium imports videos from any existing tube site, including your own: point the importer at it and videos are downloaded, transcoded and published under your quality and filter rules.

Who owns the content and the traffic?

You do. Videos sit on your servers and streams go over your bandwidth. Tubium never proxies, stores or meters your traffic - the license service only verifies your subscription.

Do you see my videos or my users?

No. Your server sends a small heartbeat (domain and license key) to check the subscription - nothing else leaves your box. Content, users and logs stay on your hardware.

What happens if I stop paying?

After a grace period your site pauses and visitors see an unavailable page. Nothing is deleted: the binary, your videos and your database stay on your server, and the site comes back automatically once you top up.

How do updates work?

The binary updates itself with a zero-downtime handover: the new version takes over the listening sockets while in-flight requests finish on the old one. Auto-update can be switched off per server.
